【莱斯特城2-1狼队】 Leicester City vs Wolves match report: Foxes edge past Wolves to continue impressive Premier League run
Leicester City have continued their impressive run in the Premier League with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Wolves at the King Power Stadium.
The Foxes, who have been one of the surprise packages in the top flight this season, made it three wins in a row with this latest victory, which moves them up to fifth place in the table.
Wolves, on the other hand, will be feeling disappointed with their performance, as they missed a number of good opportunities to take something from the game.
The home side got off to a flying start, taking the lead after just five minutes through a well-worked corner routine. Jamie Vardy was the man who managed to bundle the ball home from close range, after some confusion among the Wolves defence.
Wolves managed to get themselves back into the game midway through the first half, when Raul Jimenez converted from the penalty spot after he was brought down by Leicester defender Jonny Evans.
The away side then had a great opportunity to equalise just before half-time, but striker Adama Traore saw his effort saved by Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.
After the break, Leicester came close to doubling their lead when Vardy hit the post with a header. However, it was Wolves who made the next breakthrough, as Joao Moutinho slide in to score from a cross from Traore, to make it 2-2.
But Leicester were not to be denied, and they regained the lead 10 minutes later when Youri Tielemans fired home from outside the box, after a pass from Vardy.
Wolves pressed for an equaliser in the dying minutes of the game, but couldn't find a way past Schmeichel, as Leicester held on to secure their third consecutive victory.
The Foxes will now be hoping to build on this result when they face Southampton in their next Premier League game, while Wolves will be looking to bounce back against Burnley.
